How Dasha Works
Your birth nakshatra (Moon's star) determines which planet's period you are born into. From that starting point, the cycle follows a fixed sequence: Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, and then repeats.
Each planet's period lasts a specific number of years. During that time, the planet's significations, its houses, its dignity, its relationships, come alive. The planet becomes the director of your life story for that period.
The Degree Formula
Within each dasha period, there is a precise moment when the planet delivers its core promise. This is calculated using the planet's exact degree in the birth chart:
Event Day = Start Date + (Degree / 30) × Total Duration
For example, a planet at 15° will deliver halfway through its dasha. A planet at 5° delivers early; one at 25° delivers late.
